This is the best condition that can be found! Disc is MINT and I don't believe it has been played, I have graded it m- however to be cautious. Beautiful acid folk album with psych elements - buried deep in the English underground scene of 1969/1970 way, way rarer than their first and far better musically - a classic UK Harvest LP with one of the most gorgeous textured covers (artwork by Joan Melville) ever seen. Everything about this record, recorded in Spring 1970, is mysterious and magical a totally buried, underground experience! IMPOSSIBLY RARE IN THIS CONDITION The Disc: super high gloss surfaces - this original 1st pressing record is 35 years old but in as new condition, even the superb original Harvest poly-lined inner depicting a treasure trove of classic UK underground sleeve art is in creamy white mint condition with jet-black, sharp, clear printing The Labels: original, plain 'no EMI logo' labels are sharp, clear, clean and bright there are NO spindle marks. The Cover: printed and made by the E.J. Day Group London and Bedford. The top and bottom left corners have just light bumps and rubbing - very sharp opening edges - upper and lower seams have minor shelf wear - undamaged spine - gatefold sleeve is overall very beautiful - one of the more crisp, sharp and bright examples I've seen, especially considering the relative fragility of the unlaminated surfaces and delicate, pale colouring - superb unmarked heavily-textured matt finish to the front and rear with only a slightest of wear on the back bottom edge - lovely bright, white and clean smooth interior - there is no circular wear or impression of the record to either the front, inside or rear cover - no writing, or other defacement. The quartet Heron recorded 2 albums for Dawn Records in 1970-71. Their instrumentation is primarily acoustic guitars, el-bas and various keyboards (organ, piano). Their playing and singing is very inspired, and many of the songs sound as if they were recorded in one take. Sounds of birds and wind can be heard between several tracks, as a lot of the recordings were done outside a Devon country cottage. Most of their material was written by the band members themselves, and most of their originals are very good; especially guitarist Gerald T. Moore shines. His songs Goodbye, Little Boy and Harlequin 2 are standouts. But the other band-members contribute memorable songs like Yellow Roses, Car Crash and Smiling Ladies but its Lord and Master which hooked me . It's one of those records which is a treasure to own, the history and impossible nature of it's survival. This copy is very strong, it plays with occasional light noise in quieter moments but nothing compromising, looks real clean, has a great private label and cover is real nice.
